We are situated on the outskirts of Dereham, a market
town in central Norfolk, see the 'Major Roads' inset to the map
opposite.
It is common in Norfolk to mixed areas of housing and schools with light industry and employment. We are situated opposite two schools (the old school building is now the social centre) and Jewson the builders' merchant is a few hundred metres away. As can be seen on the map we are close to Rashs Green Industrial Area and the new Industrial Area just off the A47. There is open farmland to the south and east. Lolly moor, a site managed by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust, is further south down Westfield Road. The railway has been restored to use by the Mid-Norfolk Railway Preservation Trust and runs both passenger and freight services to Wymondham where it is possible to join the mainline. |
